The text of this book which describes the construction of the freelance one-inch to the foot scale model traction engine Minnie appeared in a series of instalments in Model Engineer, commencing in January 1969 and running through into 1970. The author has slightly expanded his description and included additional matter to clarify points that arose from correspondence with readers during the currency of the series.
